Mannheim / Frankfurt (Main), Germany, 03/2001 COMPAREX and BMC Software will supply joint solutions for implementing centralised, enterprise-wide system and storage management with a view to ensuring 24-hour availability of mission-critical applications and uninterrupted e-business operations. The sales organisations of the two companies will work together closely on the market.
The partnership will pool the strengths and capabilities of the two companies, who will offer an integrated product portfolio by bundling their know-how and resources in the field of Storage Area Networks (SAN). This will give customers made-to-measure solutions for managing enterprise-wide SAN environments.
Karl-Heinz Knapp, General Manager, Enterprise Storage at COMPAREX, explains: "Storage Area Networking is becoming increasingly important as a storage technology of the future. However, we are also seeing SAN and storage environments becoming ever more complex. While every storage manufacturer offers solutions for monitoring and managing his own products, the lack of any interoperability between manufacturers in the SAN sector means there is as yet no ideal solution available for cross-system management. In BMC we have a partner who excels in open solutions for complex system environments and is a pioneer in the centralised management of heterogeneous SAN solutions."
Thomas Kunze, Channel Manager at BMC Software Germany, commented the partnership agreement: "COMPAREX SAN solutions and BMC Software complement each other ideally. By combining our forces on the market we are looking to bundle the strengths of both companies and, in doing so, provide customers with cross-system management solutions for Storage Area Networks."
