Mannheim, Germany, 11/2000 For the first time, COMPAREX will be represented at Systems 2000 with its own stand (covering an area of 160 mē) in Hall B 4, 103. The COMPAREX exhibition crew will receive visitors in an environment which is based closely on the new advertising motifs. The company logo, the red sphere, will be suspended above the stand.
COMPAREX Portal Architecture
Central to the presentation will be the COMPAREX Portal Architecture (CPA) which bundles the server, storage and professional services activities of COMPAREX, the middleware operations of SORNET and the Applications activities of EXXEPT to form a complete COMPAREX solution that will underline the company's realignment as a supplier of infrastructure solutions for the e-business market.
The highly available and scalable platform architecture combines sophisticated Enterprise Server solutions and powerful storage systems with innovative portal technologies. It provides a future-oriented fully integrated solution for challenging projects and incorporates standard hardware and software solutions with support in all phases of the project ranging from planning and implementation to after-sales service.
The portal architecture has been installed in the new COMPAREX Core Competence Center in Edingen near Mannheim. The company established the 4C2U (COMPAREX Core Competence Center (to you)) with an investment volume of several million Marks. This will provide facilities for demonstrating the CPA, conducting benchmark testing and performing trials in the laboratory prior to going online. COMPAREX will be presenting the 4C2U concept at Systems 2000.
SORNET presents iPlanet software
SORNET handles the portal server aspects of the COMPAREX Portal Architecture. Cutting-edge portal software from iPlanet will be used to demonstrate the transfer of content, services, business processes and applications in personalised web accesses. Portal servers will provide companies with the means to exchange information and services with their customers, suppliers, partners and employees in a highly scalable and secure access environment.
EXXEPT with SAP and Internet applications
EXXEPT will be exhibiting a whole raft of mySAP.com-based applications within the CPA. It will be looking to demonstrate to visitors that EXXEPT has the expertise to develop powerful, made-to-measure solutions from COMPAREX, SORNET and SAP products. It addition to company presentations, the EXXEPT workstations will be used to demonstrate a mobile commerce application with WAP mobile phone access to SAP R/3 and add-on software from COMPAREX partners. The key area of focus is not classical SAP business, but rather the next stage of the Internet/SAP linkup for e-business solutions. The "R/3 connectivity module" is a very simple and inexpensive development by EXXEPT which is designed to add Internet functionality to the R/3 system.
New corporate slogan
COMPAREX's new corporate slogan "THE AVAILABILITY ARCHITECTS" will be readily visible to all visitors to the fair. The slogan is part of a publicity campaign which explains this concept in greater depth. The "AVAILABILITY ARCHITECTS" from COMPAREX will translate the business visions of existing and potential customers into future-focussed IT infrastructures and provide comprehensive support for them.
